SINGAPORE — The Land Transport Authority (LTA) seized a total of 14 personal mobility devices (PMDs) in its enforcement efforts over the weekend.

In a Facebook post on Sunday (June 9), LTA said that 70 personnel — including police officers — took part in operations in Ang Mo Kio, Sengkang and Tampines.

“Together, they detected 23 offences and seized 14 devices,” said LTA.

Two riders — one of whom was on a unicycle — were caught travelling at 16kmh on a footpath when the speed limit is 10kmh.

The speed limit on footpaths is 10kmh, and 25kmh on shared paths.

LTA added that other offences include riding non-compliant PMDs, using PMDs on roads, failing to stop when they were required to do so, and displaying a false identification mark on an e-scooter.

On Saturday, LTA said that its officers impounded an Iron-Man-inspired PMD that weighed nearly 83kg — more than four times the permissible limit — earlier in the week.

The rider was caught with the non-compliant device near Raffles Place by LTA’s Active Mobility Enforcement Officers during one of their regular patrols.
