SINGAPORE — Bring your brollies. Heavy and thundery showers are expected this week into next week, according to the Meteorological Service Singapore’s (MSS) forecast on Wednesday (Mar 1).
The prevailing northeast monsoon is expected to continue for the first half of March, and in the first week, thundery showers — heavy at times — are expected in the afternoons on most days.
The rainy conditions are expected to continue on two to three days in the second week of March before drier and hotter conditions set in.
Temperatures are expected range from 24°C to 34°C in the next fortnight.
The rainfall for the first half of March, though, is forecast to be slightly below normal.
February, however, was wetter than usual as it is typically a drier month of the year, MSS said. Rainfall was heaviest on Feb 8, when the highest daily rainfall total recorded was 108.2mm around the Orchard Road area.
The lowest daily minimum temperature recorded was on Feb 15 at 22.5°C, when a monsoon surge affected the region.
