SINGAPORE — A 45-year-old woman was arrested at Tiong Bahru Plaza on Monday night (April 3) after she allegedly caused a scene at an OWNDAYS outlet there.

In a video which has since been widely circulated on Facebook with over 135,000 shares, the woman was seen yelling at and hitting at least two shop staff at the eyewear retailer. Several passersby and a security guard were also captured trying to stop the woman, although she continued to swear at the shop staff.

Police say they were alerted to the incident at around 9.57pm. Investigations are currently ongoing.

According to a Facebook post by OWNDAYS Singapore on Tuesday, the incident occurred after a female shopper came into the outlet to hide from the woman seen in the video, who had become “aggressive”.

"Two of our team members attempted to assist the shopper and were assaulted by the aggressive lady. Our colleagues had been brave and maintained their professionalism despite repeated assaults by the angry lady,” said the post.

The eyewear retailer added that they are seeking legal advice.
