SINGAPORE — We have all had or seen our fair share of video-call slip-ups that occur during Zoom meetings and other forms of teleconferencing. However, this incident that recently happened in Singapore might just take the cake.

A Singaporean woman was caught on camera crawling across the room on all fours while her husband attended a video call for work. This image of someone appearing unannounced in the background of a video call for work is reminiscent of a 2017 viral video, where a political analyst was interrupted by his children during a live BBC video interview only to have his wife urgently drag their children away.

The Singaporean woman, who goes by the name “shutzyy” on TikTok, uploaded the hilarious moment on Friday (Nov 18), much to the amusement of viewers. The video received more than 400,000 views and 18,400 likes within three days.

She explained that her husband was on a video call but she needed to cross the room to retrieve her watch on the other side of the table.

To avoid being seen on screen, she did the best thing she could think of — going into “stealth mode” and crawling across the room.

She said: “This is what I did, thinking no one saw me.”

While her husband managed to keep a straight face, he fumbled on his presentation and had a “brain fart” moment upon seeing his wife shuffling across the room on her hands and knees.

Many social media users gave props to the husband for keeping it together.

One TikTok user said of the moment he noticed her crawling: “The three 'uhms'. He was fighting for his life 😭😭😭.”

Another said: “Please, his self-control is top notch… I would have laughed so badly no matter how important the call was.”

TikTok users also came up with various suggestions for the woman to avoid being caught in such a compromising situation.

One said: “It might just be fine to walk and take your watch? My colleague has his cat crawling across his laptop.”

Another said: “If you did a leopard crawl, it would be perfect.”

One TikTok user asked: “Did he not know how to adjust the camera?” To this, the wife replied: “My man was too shocked to do anything at that moment.”

Another person pointed out that the video could be staged and questioned: “Who records Zoom videos?”

The wife later clarified in the comments that there was a screen recording on Zoom because it was a presentation to clients.

It is unclear if the clients in the video call saw the man's wife crawling at that moment in time, but with this video going around, they may just get a second chance to see it.
