Zika cases crosses 300; 12 new cases confirmed on Friday

SINGAPORE — The number of locally-transmitted Zika cases has crossed 300, with 12 new cases confirmed as of 12pm on Friday (Sept 9).

SINGAPORE — The number of locally-transmitted Zika cases has crossed 300, with 12 new cases confirmed as of 12pm on Friday (Sept 9). 

Of these, 10 cases are linked to the Aljunied Crescent/ Sims Drive/ Kallang Way/ Paya Lebar Way cluster and one case is linked to the Elite Terrace cluster. 

The other new case has no known links to any existing cluster.

There are now 304 Zika cases.

Vector control operations and outreach efforts in the cluster areas are ongoing. As of Thursday, a total of 183 breeding habitats have been destroyed in the cluster areas, of which 114 are from homes, and 69 from common areas/other premises.
