Sony’s PlayStation Vita TV to be launched on Jan 16

SINGAPORE — Sony’s PlayStation Vita TV will be launched in Singapore on Jan 16 at the retail price of S$149, the Japanese gaming giants announced today (Jan 10).

SINGAPORE — Sony’s PlayStation Vita TV will be launched in Singapore on Jan 16 at the retail price of S$149, the Japanese gaming giants announced today (Jan 10).

The “latest and smallest” entertainment system from Sony will allow users to play Vita and PlayStation Portable games on their television set and can potentially play PlayStation 3 games via cloud-based streaming.

It also features Remote Play compatibility with the PlayStation 4, allowing players to stream games from the PS4 to a separate TV connected to the Vita TV system. Gamers will also be able to stream content from Japanese video site Niconico and NBA Game Time while accessing the PlayStation Store.

The Vita TV will also be available in be available in a “PS Vita TV Value Pack” which comes with the DualShock 3 wireless controller and retails for S$219.

Pre-orders are now open and those who place their orders as focus stores will receive a game voucher which includes 6 games worth a total of S$132.50.

The six games include Ragnarok Odyssey PlayStation Vita the Best, When Vikings Attack, SNK Arcade Classics 0, LocoRoco, Everybody’s Stress Buster and Fat Princess: Fistful of Cake.
