SINGAPORE — Toshiba Singapore today (June 11) introduced its three latest series — Satellite C, L and P50 — of laptops, boasting of slimmer and more modern designs, as well as better audio capabilities.

The new Satellite C models — C40/C40D and C50 — come with significant improvements compared to their predecessors: A 10 per cent drop in weight and visibly slimmer profiles. The C40/C40D and C50 models, equipped with 14.0- and 15.6-inch displays, weigh approximately 1.9kg and 2.22kg respectively.

While the Satellite C series has a four-hour battery life, the Satellite L series can function up to six hours, powered by its 45Wh battery. The L40 and L50/50D also boast a slim profile of 24mm and weigh approximately 1.9kg and 2.2kg respectively.

To further enhance the audio capabilities of the L series, Toshiba has joined hands with Skullcandy and DTS to equip the series with Skullcandy-tuned stereo speakers.

As a result, volume, bass and definition of sound is expected to be boosted and enhanced.

But Toshiba further entices customers with its Satellite P50 series, touting outstanding audio quality with the addition of high-quality Harman Kardon stereo speakers to both the P50 and P50t.

While both P50 series sport a 15.6-inch display, only the P50t proves touchscreen, fingerprint-proof, and features one of the world’s first 4K Ultra HD display panel in a laptop.

Delivering a resolution of 3840 by 2160 pixels, the P50t can support a 4K content upload to a 4K TV.

“Until now, media creators have been unable to have this combination of performance and display capabilities in a mobile solution,” said Ms Wong Wai Meng, senior manager of product marketing at Toshiba Singapore.

The new 4K Ultra HD addition to the P50t is gleaned from “years of experience and engineering resources to make it a reality”, she added.

Starting today, the Satellite P50 and P50t will begin retailing at S$1,999 and S$2,799 respectively, across electronic outlets in Singapore.

The Satellite C series will be available for purchase by the end of this month, and the Satellite L series at a later date between next month and September.
