Good arrears management can help ensure a clean estate

Arrears management is part of money management by a town council (“AHPETC receives poor rating for arrears management”; Nov 22).

Poor arrears management may result in cashflow issues, as a town council needs to pay contractors to keep an estate beautiful and clean, and cashflow problems lead to poor estate management.

A good arrears management system helps keep the amount owed small. An efficient database would not only track the payments, but kick-start the process of recovering the money owed.

I congratulate the town councils that achieved good results in this aspect of estate management.
