As most non-essential shops and businesses are closed during this circuit breaker period, Singaporeans are heading to supermarkets to buy groceries and other things they need.

These may include small items they usually buy from hardware or stationery shops.

Almost every day, the supermarket is crowded.

I suggest all supermarket chains open 24 hours daily during this period. This will spread out the crowds throughout the day.

Those who need to shop at the supermarket but wish to avoid the crowds can choose to stop by when it is less crowded.

Should supermarkets lack manpower to operate in the wee hours, this is the best chance to employ part-time workers whose jobs have been affected by the Covid-19 outbreak.

I am sure there will be Singaporeans who are willing to be employed temporarily at supermarkets. This will be a win-win situation.
