Playtime’s over, manage study centres better
There is a study centre for youth and children at Block 108, Bukit Purmei Road, where I live.
There is a study centre for youth and children at Block 108, Bukit Purmei Road, where I live.
Regrettably, I have noticed that the children seem to be using the computers at the centre — which charges for their use — to play games instead of study.
For example, I have noticed a boy of secondary school age who is there almost every day, playing games until the centre closes.
It is distracting for students who are there to study if they see others playing games.
Also, children who are not allowed to use the computer at home can easily trick their parents by telling them they are going to the study centre to study, when they actually intend to play games.
There should be more oversight of such facilities and I hope that the management of the centre can take immediate action.
Perhaps it can consider allowing only adults to use the computers for the Internet, and forbid children and youth from playing games.
