Students should also be taught proper toilet habits

I applaud the move by the Ministry of Education to cultivate responsibility in school children by having them help to clean the school compound (“Daily school cleaning for students ‘a good lesson in social responsibility’”; Feb 26).

I applaud the move by the Ministry of Education to cultivate responsibility in school children by having them help to clean the school compound (“Daily school cleaning for students ‘a good lesson in social responsibility’”; Feb 26).

One area of the school that is excluded is the toilets and this is understandable. However, it is important that students be taught proper toilet habits at a young age, so they know how to leave toilets clean for the next user. Judging from the mess one sees often in public toilets, these particular habits need to be worked on.
