Senior meteorologist Dr Mohd Hisham Mohd Anip said the department is expecting continuous rain and the public should be on alert as a precautionary measure.
“Usually, monsoon rain is not necessarily heavy but it is continuous, fluctuating between light and moderate rain,” he said. “But for this duration, we are expecting light and moderate rain only.”
He said the possibility of flooding is low, but the public is advised to remain alert.
“We do not know when the weather can change.
“It can be unpredictable and it has changed before so the public should keep alert and follow information provided.”
The advisory from the department said monsoonal rain with strong winds are expected in Pahang, Johor as well as Sarawak, specifically in Kuching, Samarahan, Sri Aman, Betong, Sarikei, Sibu, Mukah and Bintulu.
Isolated thunderstorms scattered rain is also expected in the Klang Valley for the coming week. THE MALAYMAIL ONLINE
