Convicted British paedophile Richard Huckle, who abused Malaysian children, found dead in UK prison

KUALA LUMPUR — Richard Huckle, a British national who was jailed in the United Kingdom for sex crimes against up to 200 children, including Malaysians, has been found stabbed to death in prison, according to media reports.

According to the BBC, Huckle was attacked in his cell at Full Sutton Prison in York, where he is currently serving 22 life sentences.

He was jailed in 2016, after being arrested upon his return to the UK from Malaysia, where he had been living and sexually abusing children.

Huckle had pleaded guilty to 71 offences involving 22 children aged from six months to 12 years old, between 2006 and 2014.

He took pictures and video footage of himself abusing the children which he uploaded to the dark web — a hard to access part of the Internet often used for illegal activity.

On the pretext of being a photographer, English teacher and western philanthropist, Huckle won the trust of impoverished families before carrying out the abuse. This included rapes which he filmed, photographed and shared online with paedophiles worldwide.

Huckle awarded himself points for his crimes and boasted that those from poor communities made easier victims than well-to-do westerners.

Investigators had found over 20,000 indecent images on his computer, where he also kept a ledger of his attacks and wrote a manual called “Paedophiles And Poverty: Child Lover Guide”. NEW STRAITS TIMES
