Covid-19 cases in Malaysia surpass 2,000 mark for sixth consecutive day

KUALA LUMPUR — Covid-19 cases reported in Malaysia remained above the 2,000 mark for a sixth consecutive day on Tuesday (April 20), with the country reporting 2,341 fresh cases in the past 24 hours, said Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.

KUALA LUMPUR — Covid-19 cases reported in Malaysia remained above the 2,000 mark for a sixth consecutive day on Tuesday (April 20), with the country reporting 2,341 fresh cases in the past 24 hours, said Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.

The health director-general said Sarawak reported the highest number of cases for the third day in a row, registering 600 fresh infections in the past 24 hours. This was followed by Selangor with 539 cases.

Kelantan also marked the highest number of new cases in the state with 429, while Kuala Lumpur reported its highest number of new cases since late February.

Dr Noor Hisham said all states in the country reported new cases on Tuesday, taking the nation’s total so far to 379,473. THE MALAYSIAN INSIGHT
