KUALA LUMPUR — Former Malaysian health minister Khairy Jamaluddin is set to start a new career as a radio DJ at local radio station, Hot FM, from next week.

The station said in a statement that Mr Khairy confirmed his appointment on Thursday (Feb 9) morning on Bekpes Hot segment.

The Media Prima-owned station said Mr Khairy will start work on Feb 15 alongside fellow DJs Johan, Fara Fauzana, and AG.

Expressing his gratitude, Media Prima Audio chief executive officer Nazri Noran said he was delighted to have Mr Khairy on board to provide a fresher content to the listeners.

“A million thanks and appreciation to KJ for his willingness to join us as a Bekpes Hot presenter.”

Speaking about the content direction, Network director Shah Hayatudin said the team is currently discussing with Mr Khairy to curate exciting content for the listeners.

“Khairy has also shared several ideas to make the Bekpes segment more interesting to the audience.”

The radio station shared a copy of the offer letter online and openly requested Mr Khairy to join the morning segment from 6am until 10am.

The segment will run everyday from Monday to Friday.

The offer came after Mr Khairy was expelled from the United Malays National Organisation (Umno) last month for violating the party’s constitution in the 15th general election (GE15) that was held last November.

The former Rembau MP and Umno youth chief contested the Sungai Buloh seat in GE15 but was defeated by Pakatan Harapan’s Datuk R. Ramanan. MALAY MAIL
