Malaysia logs 19,991 new Covid-19 cases

KUALA LUMPUR — Malaysia recorded an increase in Covid-19 cases in the past 24 hours on Tuesday (Aug 10) with 19,991 new infections after a slight dip in numbers the day before, the country’s director-general of health Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said.

On Monday, the country reported 17,236 infections. This brings Malaysia’s cumulative Covid-19 cases to 1,299,767.

The highest daily tally so far was on Aug 6 when 20,889 cases were reported.

Of Tuesday’s total, the bulk of cases are from the Klang Valley, with a total of 9,712 infections.

Selangor recorded 7,338 cases while Kuala Lumpur recorded 2,374. This is followed by Kedah with 1,830 cases. THE MALAYSIAN INSIGHT
