Yvonne Lim engaged to ex-B.A.D. boy

SINGAPORE — The buzz had been that Yvonne Lim was dating former Taiwanese boyband B.A.D. member Alex Tien. Not anymore.

SINGAPORE — The buzz had been that Yvonne Lim was dating former Taiwanese boyband B.A.D. member Alex Tien. Not anymore.

But that’s only because the couple has taken it a step further. The MediaCorp TV Channel 8 actress has revealed that they’re engaged and soon to be wed.

In a phone interview, Lim shared how Tien had “popped the question during a cover shoot” leaving her “very surprised and emotional… very ‘paiseh’ and shy”.

The happy couple had been friends for over ten years but it seems that mothers really do know best. Or in this case, Tien’s godmother, who played the role of matchmaker.

“I was back from China filming, he came to Singapore to visit his godmother. Being Singaporean, you want to bring people around. At that time, the aquarium at Resorts World was the latest attraction, so I brought him to the aquarium,” she laughed.

But is the Taiwanese pop star her dream guy? “I would say that he’s the guy that’s meant to be with me,” she giggled.

“He’s funny, he knows how to cheer me up and he used to be from showbiz, so he understands my job scope pretty well. It’s very easy for us to communicate and we felt very comfortable with each other. I would say that he’s someone I can share things with.”

Although they haven’t got the time to make plans and she’s still “at a loss” as to what the next step should be, the reserved celebrity said that her wedding would be “low-profile, with close friends and family”.

As for the question we all want to know: Do they have plans to make little Yvonne-Alex’s? “We both love children, we both love kids. Babies will be on our next thing after we get married! It depends on how many I can come up with lor,” she laughed.

Yvonne is certainly going to continue with her acting career. “I don’t think this is going to affect (my career) in any way… We Singaporeans are very supportive!”
