SINGAPORE — Mediacorp’s radio stations have snagged eight out of the top 10 spots in the latest Nielsen Radio Diary Survey.

In a survey conducted between March and May this year, Mediacorp’s three Chinese stations remained the top three most-listened-to stations, with LOVE 97.2FM holding the number one spot for the third wave in a row. It has a listenership of 19.4 per cent. Taking second and third places are YES 933 and Capital 95.8FM, with a listenership of 18.5 per cent and 17.3 per cent respectively.

Jomay Wan, Mediacorp’s Lead, Audience & Content, Family Segment (Chinese), said the results are especially meaningful as Mediacorp celebrates 80 years of radio this year. “We are thrilled to learn that our Chinese stations continue to rule the airwaves in Singapore,” she said. “We have evolved our content with feedback and contributions from our listeners, creating unique experiences for them. The best way to thank our listeners is to keep striving to improve our offerings.”

Meanwhile, Class 95 takes the fourth spot, followed by GOLD 905 (No 6), Warna 94.2FM (No 7), 987 (No 8) and Oli 96.8FM (No 10).

According to the survey, Oli 96.8FM listeners spent an average of over 16 hours a week on the station while Warna 94.2FM listeners listened for an average of over 15 hours a week — dominating the Time Spent Listening category.

Chitra Rajaram, Head of Community Segment in Mediacorp, said they are thrilled with the results. “We are constantly engaging our listeners for feedback via traditional means and social platforms and are deeply encouraged by their response.”

Commenting on the news, Erina Cook, Assistant Lead, Audience & Content, Family Segment (English), described the Class 95 listeners as “the heartbeat of the station”.

“Their unwavering support spurs us to keep delivering the best mix of music, conversation and experiences. We want to thank our listeners and business partners for making us the number one English radio station.”
