SINGAPORE – A 14 year old boy who allegedly threw an ofo bicycle down from a flat at 116B Jalan Tenteram has been arrested, the police said in a statement on Friday (June 16) morning.

Video footage of the act was widely circulated on social media on Thursday. The 11-second clip showed the bicycle being lifted over the railing of a corridor partition before being dropped to the ground floor.

The police said they had received several reports about the incident, and subsequently arrested the suspect on the same day after making enquiries in the neighbourhood.

The teenager was arrested for committing a rash act, a crime punishable with imprisonment of up to 6 months, and/or a fine of up to S$2,500.

Investigations are currently on going.

An ofo spokesperson told TODAY on Thursday: “This is something that goes beyond vandalism and poses a threat to the safety of everyone around.”

CLARIFICATION: An earlier version of this story said the suspect is 13. The police have since clarified that the teenager's correct age is 14.
