SINGAPORE — In the latest back and forth over the Oxley Road home of the late Mr Lee Kuan Yew, Mr Lee Hsien Yang has accused Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong of adopting differing positions on the property in public and private.

In a Facebook post on Thursday (June 15) afternoon, Mr Lee Hsien Yang listed several instances of PM Lee’s statements in public about the house. These were juxtaposed against what he claims were positions held by the Prime Minister in private.

PM Lee had said in Parliament in April 2015 that there was no need for the Government to take a decision on 38 Oxley Road until his sister, Dr Lee Wei Ling, no longer resides there, and that it would be up to the Government of the day to take up the matter. He had also posted on Facebook previously that he hopes “the Government will allow the late Mr Lee Kuan Yew’s wish for the demolition of the house to be honoured”.

In his post on Wednesday, Mr Lee Hsien Yang took issue with these and other public statements, and claimed that the Prime Minister adopted a differing position in private.
