SINGAPORE — A man was arrested on Monday (March 20) after a report was made on a theft of 24 tins of milk powder at a Turf Club Road supermarket two weeks ago.

A search at the 34-year-old’s home found about 200 tins of milk powder with an estimated value of over S$10,000, the police said on Tuesday, linking him to other cases of milk powder thefts at supermarkets island-wide.

TODAY understands that the suspect had intended to sell the milk powder he amassed.

He will be charged in court on Wednesday with theft in dwelling.

If found guilty, he will get a fine and also face imprisonment for up to seven years.
