SINGAPORE - Permanent subsidies for MediShield Life premiums will be made “hassle-free” and “automatic” where possible, said Senior Minister of State for Health Amy Khor today (June 8) as she addressed concerns over cost of premiums.

SINGAPORE - Permanent subsidies for MediShield Life premiums will be made “hassle-free” and “automatic” where possible, said Senior Minister of State for Health Amy Khor today (June 8) as she addressed concerns over cost of premiums.

She was responding to a question from the press on whether the delivery of the subsidies will be made automatic to the middle- to lower-income Singaporean families under a permanent subsidy structure.

Speaking at the sidelines of the Hong Kah North Residents’ Day, Dr Khor said the scheme to help those who are still unable to afford the premiums after the various subsidies and increased MediShield contributions, will be similar to Medifund.

To communicate the MediShield Life benefits to the older generation, Dr Khor said the Government should look into creating videos in dialects, similar to a Hokkien video that was created to explain the Pioneer Generation Package.
