SINGAPORE — A taxi ploughed into the outdoor sitting area of a bar along East Coast Road last night (April 17), after it was involved in an accident with another car.
Five casualties, three women and two men, were conveyed conscious to Changi General Hospital, said the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF), which received a call at 9pm, and sent two ambulances.
Mr Sunny Naresh, who was inside the bar, Georges Mad Bar & Grill, said he heard a loud crash and looked out. “Almost all the tables and chairs outside were destroyed. Some female patrons had to be carried into the bar to nurse their injuries and several were crying after the incident,” he said.
The other car remained on the road, added the 27-year-old.
The SCDF said the one of the casualties said she had pain and abrasion on her right leg, while another had pain and numbness on her right leg, shoulder and neck. The third woman said she had numbness to her lower left leg.
One of the men said he had pain to his left hand, left leg and rib, while the other said he experienced numbness on his right thigh and lower back pain, said the SCDF.
