SINGAPORE — Two cars caught fire within the space of about an hour on Monday evening (June 6) in different parts of Singapore.

The first incident occured at about 5pm involving a white car on fire near the junction of Farrer Road and Holland Road. The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) extinguished the fire, which originated in the car’s engine compartment, with one water jet.

At about 6.12pm, the SCDF was then alerted to the second incident. This time, it was a blue car whose engine compartment had caught fire at the junction of Ang Mo Kio Avenue 1 and 8.

The SCDF extinguished the second fire using two compressed air foam backpack jets.

One fire engine, one red rhino and two fire bikes were sent to both scenes.
