SINGAPORE -- They may be leading this season’s Great Eastern-Yeo’s S-League table, but Tampines Rovers have relieved head coach Nenad Bacina of his duties.
The decision comes after Tampines exited the Asian Football Confederatin (AFC) Cup at the group stage after two draws and four defeats in their six group matches.
Bacina, who had only been appointed Tampines head coach five months ago, will be replaced by the club’s General Manager Tay Peng Kee.
Also on his way out of the defending S-League champions is their Argentinian midfielder Martin Wagner, who will return to Buenos Aires this Friday after failing to settle at the club.
