Adam Lambert’s sexual identity should not be an issue in show

I agree with the writer of “Ousting Adam Lambert: Defence of Asian values must be wholehearted” (Dec 2).

As a more open, cosmopolitan and well-travelled society with 50 years of nationhood, Singapore should be more accepting of someone who admits to being gay and does what he does best: Entertain.

One must look at Mr Lambert from the perspective of his performance and the audience’s enjoyment. His sexual orientation should be a non-issue and will not shake the foundation of Asian values.

He was entertaining in American Idol and deserves a spot in the 2016 countdown show. It would be a loss to the Singapore entertainment scene if he were jettisoned because of the petition.
