KUALA LUMPUR — A senior private secretary to a deputy minister has come forward and identified himself as one of the men in a sex video purportedly involving a Pakatan Harapan minister.

Mr Haziq Abdullah Abdul Aziz released a video on Facebook on Wednesday (June 12) confessing to be the person in the video. He also alleged that the other party in the sex clip was cabinet minister Azmin Ali.

Mr Haziq, who is a senior private secretary to Malaysia’s Deputy Primary Industries Minister Shamsul Iskandar Mohd Akin, said: “The video was made without my permission on May 11 during the Sandakan by-election in (the minister’s) room at Hotel Four Points.

“I urge MACC (Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission) to investigate (the minister) on allegations of corruption. He is an individual who is unfit to be a leader.”

On Wednesday evening, Mr Azmin, who is Malaysia's Economic Affairs Minister, issued a statement categorically denying the allegation, claiming it is "vicious libel" against him.

Mr Azmin added that he has instructed his lawyers to take appropriate legal action against those who made the allegations and other perpetrators, and he will use all legal means available to expose the culprits behind the alleged plot. AGENCIES
