‘90s Star Mark Cheng Celebrates 58th Birthday After News Of Marriage Troubles; Flashes Wedding Ring And Says He Has “Nothing Left” In Douyin Clip

Just last month, Hong Kong actor Mark Cheng broke down when asked by a reporter about his marriage. He revealed that his wife of 20 years, Ailyn Pow, was planning to leave him, and hinted that she had been cheating on him.

During his recent 58th birthday celebration on Oct 6, Mark posted a heartbreaking video to Douyin, where he was seen still trying to cope with recent life changes.

Mark remarked that even though he had been having celebratory meals with his friends for five days straight, he felt that there was nothing much worth celebrating, because “in the past year, [he] realised he has nothing left, including his son and daughter”.

Flashing his wedding ring in the clip, Mark said: “Happy birthday to me! It’s the first time I’m revealing some things today, thank you everyone for your concern! I will get better! Thank you!”

Mark wore a pained expression and could be seen holding back tears as he sighed in the clip.

Mark tried to keep a positive front as he wished himself a happy birthday

The star tried to keep a positive attitude as he continued: “It’s no matter, I will cherish [things] even more, because I am surrounded by a group of great friends. I also have my parents… they are healthy. My brothers and their families are in good health, they are all in Vancouver, so I won’t give up. I’m wishing myself a happy birthday and wishing everyone good health and happiness.”

Many of Mark’s fans felt super bad for him, and left comforting comments on his Douyin vid.

“Many of us are supporting you. Although we can’t help you financially, or in real life, we will be here for you. Jiayou,” was just one of the many encouraging comments left by netizens.

Mark and his Malaysian wife Ailyn would have celebrated their 20th anniversary last month. They have a daughter and a son together.

The couple was known to be loving, and often took to social media to post family pics during special occasions, which was why the sudden news of an impending split came as a shock to most.
