A little over a year ago, an extremely juicy rumour involving the wives of Taiwanese-American singer Wilber Pan, 41, and Hongkong Heavenly King Aaron Kwok, 55, popped up and rocked the Asian showbiz scene ‘cos of how wild it was.

To refresh your memory, a source claiming to be familiar with China’s influencer scene alleged that there are ‘pickup artist training camps’ for women who aim to marry celebrities.

Wilber’s wife Luna Xuan and Aaron’s wife Moka Fang were speculated to have landed their famous husbands through this very, um, interesting ‘course’, although almost everyone involved has since issued various forms of denial.

While Moka initially responded to the gossip in an indirect and passive-aggressive manner, the 34-year-old model recently tackled it head-on for the first time in an interview with Grazia China.

The mother-of-two explained that she didn’t want to pay too much attention to the scandal ‘cos she thought the truth would speak for itself, but she still ended up taking it to heart.

“I think anyone would be affected by it and feel sad and unhappy,” she mused. “I also care about what everyone thinks ‘cos I’m not like what they say I am, but I don’t know how to explain myself ‘cos the more you try and explain something, the more people might think you have something to hide.”

Moka then admitted that she had prepared a lengthy statement to clarify her side of the story when the ‘training camp’ rumours emerged, but she deleted it after deciding that it might be better to let the issue go away with time.

According to the article, Moka’s voice trembled slightly while she was talking about the saga, showing just how “scared and powerless” she must feel after facing such an overwhelming barrage of negative public opinion.
