Ariel Lin Shares Her Secret Of How She Gets Along With Her In-Laws

The 39-year-old Taiwanese actress lives with her in-laws and has a lot of alone time with them as her hubby is often not in Taiwan.

If you thought that Ariel Lin’s claim of having zero arguments with her husband in six years of marriage was impressive, this will either inspire you further or make you feel skeptical: the 39-year-old gets along really well with her in-laws.

Since getting married in 2015, Ariel and her husband, Taiwanese-American businessman Charles Lin, have lived with his parents. And since Charles travels extensively for work, the actress is often alone in the house with her in-laws.

Ariel let on that she often goes for cooking classes, watches movies, and attends social gatherings with her mother-in-law, adding that spending time with her in-laws, whom she calls her "second set of parents", is “not difficult at all because I truly want to see them happy.”

It’s not all a bed of roses for Ariel, though.

“Saying that I’ve never felt any negative emotions [when I was interacting with my in-laws] would be a lie, but whenever I feel that way I’ll think about how everyone has their shortcomings. If you feel like you’ve been wronged, will you look like a tolerant person to the other party?”

Putting herself in the shoes of other people comes naturally to Ariel. She explained that it's a skill she “learned very early on in life because of [her] profession”, and that empathy has allowed her to let go of all the negativity she’s ever felt towards people.
