Bruneian Star Wu Chun Wants His Kids To Study In China, Says Their Chinese Improved So Much After Just A Month There
He says it was “equivalent to [spending] five months [learning Chinese] in Brunei” and has already checked out schools there.
Every parent wants the best for their kids and would try to give them the best education possible. Bruneian heartthrob Wu Chun is no different.
The 42-year-old revealed on Chinese talk show Star Moon that he intends to send his kids, Neinei, 11, and Max, eight, to China to study, and has even checked out schools during their recent month-long family trip there.

But that wasn’t always the plan.
As both Wu Chun and his wife, Lin Liying, attended university in Melbourne, they had initially wanted to send Neinei to Australia this year and had even chosen a school.
However, they changed their minds due to the pandemic and decided China would be a better choice.
Not only will it be beneficial when it comes to learning Chinese, the kids can experience Chinese culture too, he added.
In fact, he saw a huge improvement in their Chinese over the past month.
“It is equivalent to spending five months in Brunei,” he noted. “They hear us speaking Mandarin all the time and everyone communicates with them in Mandarin, so they have improved a lot.”
When host Wang Jiangyue asked if he’s worried that their Chinese would be better than his, Wu Chun replied, "This is every parent's dream. They hope that their kids will be better than them. Of course, they want them to do well."

He sure loves China
While many netizens were impressed with his decision, some commented that he would probably enroll his kids in an international school, and not schools that locals attend.
There were also netizens who advised him to reconsider as the Chinese education system is fiercely competitive.
