'Carina Lau said I look like Song Hye Kyo!' Ex-Mediacorp actress Apple Hong on getting praised by the Hong Kong star
Truly a compliment of the highest order for Apple, who had a chance meeting with Carina in Tokyo.
Former Mediacorp actress Apple Hong is over the moon, and we don’t blame her one bit.
On April 4, the 44-year-old shared on Instagram that she managed to meet Hong Kong actress Carina Lau, 57, while on holiday in Tokyo.
And that’s not even the best part.
As it turns out, Apple and Carina got acquainted years ago, and Carina still remembers Apple.
Total fangirl moment.
"So happy that [Carina] remembered we met years ago. And she said I look like Song Hye-Kyo!!!” Apple wrote, adding that she was in total fangirl mode.
Now, that’s a crazy-good compliment, coming from Carina herself.
In her caption, Apple was also full of praise for Matsukawa, a Japanese kaiseki restaurant, where she presumably met Carina.
Doppelgangers?
Over in the comments section, netizens and celebs alike couldn’t help but to gush over the chance meeting, with Hong Ling agreeing with Carina.
"Yes you really look like Song Hye Kyo!” said Hong Ling.
Shu Qi, or Apple?
A couple of netizens also chimed in, with one writing that Apple looks like Taiwanese actress Shu Qi, 46, too.
