Chinese Singer Stephy Qi’s 2nd Child Will Take Her Surname Instead Of Her Husband's

She and her hubby Korean-American pop star Li Cheng Xuan are still very much together, in case you're wondering. So why the arrangement?

Chinese singer Stephy Qi (戚薇), 36, recently announced that she is expecting her second child with her Korean-American husband Li Cheng Xuan, 37.

Now, here’s something a little different about their announcement: Baby Number Two will take Stephy’s surname “Qi”, rather than her husband’s.

Stephy also revealed that they had discussed this whole surname issue when their daughter, Lucky Lee, was born in 2015.

“So this baby will follow my surname, each child will take one parent’s surname,” Stephy explained.

The happy family of three is about to become four

Since making the announcement of her pregnancy, Stephy has yet to reveal the gender of baby number two.

Stephy also said that her husband had once suggested a combination of both their surnames, ‘Qi-Lee’, but were ridiculed by fans who felt that it was too unnecessary.

Cheng Xuan famously took a step back from the spotlight to be their daughter's main caregiver when she was born, allowing Stephy to focus on her career. His actions quickly earned him the nickname 'the perfect stay-at-home dad'.

It was only when he participated in Chinese reality competition Call Me By Fire last year that audiences realised just how talented he is.

With the news that he's going to be a dad a second time, fans are curious as to whether Cheng Xuan will again give up his career to a househusband.
