The egg has cracked: after opening to much fanfare and long queues in November 2016, the Gudetama Cafe at Suntec City is shuttering. Its last day of operation is November 17, 2019.

The cafe is fronted by the massively popular Sanrio character Gudetama, a lazy anthropomorphic egg, and has adorable decor and themed food featuring the languid egg yolk character. It’s run by the folks behind the Soup Spoon and Joe & Dough chain, who cited “the end of our partnership and license agreement with Sanrio Co. Ltd” as the reason for the closure.

From October 10 to November 17, Gudetama Cafe will be holding a “I’m Tired Farewell Celebration” with special deals to say goodbye to fans.

Diners get 33% off their order of two mains and a dessert, or three mains (not including beverages).

And there’s 33% off all Gudetama merchandise at the merch corner.
