Jeanette Aw’s Cakes So Popular, Her Patisserie’s Website Crashed Minutes After Launch
All cake orders can only be made via her website for now.
We can’t say we didn’t see this coming. Despite only offering three types of cake, the website for Jeanette Aw’s much-talked about new patisserie Once Upon A Time crashed minutes after it launched this morning (May 25) due to high volume traffic and orders.
When 8days.sg tried to access the website shortly after it (supposedly, see below) went live at 10am, we were greeted with a page stating: “Resource limit is reached. Website is temporarily unable to service your request as it exceeded resource limit. Please try again later.”
According to a netizen who left a comment on Once Upon A Time’s Instagram, the website “reached its limit even before 10am”.
Four hours later, Once Upon A Time shared on Instagram that it was trying to get the website up and running again, and to stay tuned to IG for updates.
8days.sg reached out to Jeanette’s manager for more details, but has not received a response.
Jeanette shared with 8days.sg last week that only three cakes are on offer during the launch period: Blueberry Burst, a blueberry and lemon pound cake, plain Financiers, and Pineapple Financiers.
All the cakes are freshly baked by Jeanette herself each day and only a limited number will be available for sale.
Due to the tightened COVID-19 measures, the store is only taking pre-orders via its website for the time being.
Response to Jeanette’s bake sales last year were just as overwhelming. Her WTF (What The Fudge) Brownies had a “900 to 1,000” pax wait list, and one disgruntled fan even accused the actress of being “selective” with her customers when she did not manage to get hold of the brownies.
Once Upon A Time is at 01-04, 35 Hamilton Road, Singapore 209204. Opens Thu-Sun, 11am-4pm. Onceuponatime.sg
