Forget wiry Ah Bengs hacking un-sexily into your precious durians. Say hello to hunks with rock-hard abs cradling the King of Fruits. At least via the brand new Instagram account @hotdudeswithdurian account, created by a bunch of thirsty Singapore-based folks just a week ago. It was inspired by the hotdudeswith series of Insta accounts, including famous New-York-based @hotdudesreading with a 1-million-strong following, which recently featured a Singaporean book-welding hottie on an MRT train.

@hotdudeswithdurians delivers exactly what its name promises: photos of fit, (mostly) good-looking guys posing with the pongy, thorny fruit. And they're accompanied by cheeky captions. Like this one featuring adorable Syafiq Kamal, Manhunt finalist and former 8 DAYS Shirtless Guy: What kind of white-glove service can we expect from this durian dude? Hopefully it involves the same meticulous care and attention he puts into his workouts . Snigger.

What started out as a joke between a bunch of gal pals has grown into something bigger than expected, with almost 450 followers just a week after the first post was shared. The all-female group behind the account is made up of Singaporeans and Singapore-based expats who hold full-time jobs, ranging from a finance pro, tech person, to university professor. They've requested to remain, ahem, anonymous.

The whole thing stemmed from a casual chat about the different ‘hotguyswith’ Instagram accounts, and one of the ladies suggested having a hotdudeswithdurian one focusing on local talent in Southeast Asia. We all have differing opinions about the durian, ranging from loving to loathing it. But we all agree it is an extremely captivating food, shares the group's spokesperson via Insta message.

The account was thus born on March 29. At least one new pic is posted each day — so turn on your notifications, if durians make you thorny.

Durian is often described as 'divisive' — you either love it or hate it. But one thing that's clear is this dude is pleasing to everyone's taste.

The mysterious founders of the account also attribute its popularity to their copywriting (sometimes clever, mostly corny, but usually so ridiculous it's hilarious). Most other stud-centric accounts simply repost photos with boring captions such a “Puppy Love”. But not them.

For example: This dude is invited into my kitchen any day. Wait a minute while I open the fridge to cool down. Is it the durian that has caused the heaty [sic] or is it this hottie?

Some of the guys featured on the account are friends and partners of the account owners, others were found through the Internet. We're also told the account admin receives photo submissions from fame-hungry followers too. So far, there are durian-toting dudes from Singapore, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Thailand — and even as far as Hawaii.

This one is a rare Thai variety. And this durian dude can thai me up anytime he'd like. Sawadee kap!

The founders still have their eye on featuring local talent, and for now, the account exists to “get some laughs and put a smile on people’s faces”.

This durian dude may have commitment issues because he can't pick just one. Maybe it stems from a strong appetite that can't be satiated? Or maybe he just likes four-play? Regardless, this is what we call a well-balanced diet.
