Pizza Hut just launched a new flavour and it’s a mouthful in more ways than one. Try saying the name of their all-new festive pie quickly - ChickenPopCheesyBiteswithChachosChips pizza. This new tongue-twister will be launched along with three other Christmas Cheesy Bites flavours (characterised by the cheese-filled dough tubes ringing the pie in lieu of the regular pizza crust). These include returning classics like the Hawaiian Cheesy Bites and Super Supreme Cheesy Bites pizzas.

The pizzas will be available for dine-in, delivery and takeaway from today till January 5 next year, at $26.90 for nine inches across all four flavours. Those with a sweet tooth should stay tuned for December 1, which is when the fast-food chain launches their suite of Lotus biscoff-themed desserts.

The festive pizza comes loaded with cherry tomatoes, spinach, pineapple, turkey bacon, thousand island sauce, and the star ingredient: moderately-spicy morsels of chicken, breaded and deep-fried for extra crunch. Bolstering said crunch is a further portion of Chachos (tortilla corn chips) to be sprinkled liberally over your pizza if you desire.

The fried chicken packs a noticeable spicy punch and is reasonably crispy post-delivery, though we find the addition of the plain-tasting tortilla chips… kind of meh, especially against the stronger flavours like salty-savoury bacon and the tang from the pineapple and cherry tomato. In fact, the medley of flavours and textures on the pizza are a little too much; everything gets muddled together, with only occasional bursts of spicy crunch from the fried chicken bits shining through.

The real kicker is the pie’s eponymous Cheesy Bites: parmesan-filled rounds of dough, complete with festive red and green breadcrumbs scattered over top. They’re carby, cheesy bites that do what they’re made for perfectly well – serve as a crude, but effective, vehicle for ferrying their house special cheese sauce into our mouths.

As always, Pizza Hut offers up some festive delivery bundles, perfect for these stay-at-home times. The Christmas Treat Box ($36.90) feeds three to four with a large Cheesy Bites pizza of your choice and two sides. If you’re having friends over (2 or 5 – please keep up with the guidelines!), consider the Christmas Feast Box (above). For $44.90, you get two regular-sized pizzas (one Cheesy Bites and one from the usual suite of flavours) and a choice of three sides, good for a party of five.

Though the Lotus biscoff-themed treats are only available next month, 8days.sg got a special preview of them, and we’d recommend getting the Christmas Feast Box, if only ‘cos you have the option of getting the yummy Lotus Biscoff Breadsticks as one of your sides. After all, who doesn’t love a um, balanced meal that comes with dessert?

Though the breadsticks are more dense than light and fluffy, they boast an assertive crunch that pairs well with the accompanying heap of Lotus biscoff crumbs. We especially enjoy the dulcet sweetness of the Lotus biscoff sauce that’s soaked into the bottom half of the breadsticks on their journey from kitchen to home. Quite delish.

A pleasantly crisp rendition of a Belgian waffle, even though it's denser than what we usually like. You get a generous helping of caramelly Lotus biscoff crumbs and sauce to go with the lone waffle, so we’d exercise a bit of restraint unless you’re fine with an epic post-lunch slump. This isn’t included in the Christmas Feast Box delivery bundle, so you’d need to get it as an add-on.
