Yes, Stuffedwing.com is as uncool as an eatery’s name gets. But they’re branding it so you remember them the next time you’re looking to have chicken wings delivered too. Besides, you’d be making a mistake if you dismiss this humble month-old stall in Kopitiam food court at Tampines Mall as yet another generic fried chicken joint. Because here, they've mastered the art of hiding food within their chicken wings. Think Thai peek kai yad sai — boneless wings filled with goodies such as minced pork and glass noodles — but stuffed with Singaporean favourites such as nasi lemak and curry potatoes instead. How cool is that? There’s even a funky Western offering of mac and cheese filling.

It took co-owner Aaron Ho and his team two years to perfect this tricky technique of stuffing the wings to ensure a perfect filling-to-chicken meat and skin ratio. Aaron also co-owns catering company Broson Catering, which he says was the first to introduce whole whole chickens stuffed with Hainanese chicken rice 12 years ago. Years after they first introduced the offering to their catering clients, Aaron is still as enthused about his invention, telling us, “You know, I still get so excited when I think about slicing the chicken — it’s like cutting into a birthday cake!”
