Edison Chen's Ex-Girlfriend Cammi Tse Could Get Jailed 7 Years For Promoting Online Casino

Remember Cammi Tse, the Hongkong model whose claim to fame was dating a then-31 year old Edison Chen when she was 16?

Well, she's now 27 and making the headlines again.

According to reports, Cammi, who is now an influencer, is in trouble for promoting an online casino on Instagram. She had posted IG stories of herself playing what looks like a roulette game, and providing clickthrough links to the gambling portal.

According to Hongkong media, multiple influencers have been approached by online casinos as brand ambassadors, and what they are getting paid to promote said gambling portals are reportedly six times more than other sponsored posts.

The influencers are also said to receive a cut of the bet amounts that are generated from the links that they share.

Is she going to get in trouble for this?

Renowned Hongkong lawyer Albert Luk told Hongkong media outlet HK01 that promoting such online casinos is considered a crime under the Gambling Ordinance Act as it encourages or facilitates betting.

The maximum punishment for those found guilty is a HK$5mil (S$862K) fine and seven years imprisonment.

Cammi’s lavish lifestyle has been questioned by netizens for years. She's always seen dressed in designer outfits, going on vacations in five-star hotels and indulging in fine dining, which is perfectly fine except she doesn’t seem to have a fixed income.

Cammi found fame, or should we say notoriety, in 2011 when intimate photos of her and Edison were leaked online.

The then-16-year-old claimed that the photos were retrieved from her phone, which she had lost. She later told the media that she had lost her virginity to Edison.
