It’s no secret that Ella Chen and her four-year-old son Daniel (who is affectionately known as Jin Bao) are very close.

The S.H.E member often shares pics of them bonding on social media, and who can forget her super sweet tribute to him on his birthday this year.

However, the outspoken singer’s parenting methods have raised quite a few eyebrows recently.

Ella, 40, revealed at a parenting event earlier this week that she has a habit of being “very naked at home”. And just like former TVB actress Coffee Lam, she doesn’t see a problem with being nude around her son.

She said often changes clothes in front of Daniel and he once happened to walk in on her changing her sanitary pad.

Instead of trying to hide what she was doing, she took the opportunity to get started on his health education .

I explained to him directly about anatomy and the human body, and I told him very naturally what I had learned before, Ella said, adding that she believes that it’s good to expose him to sex education at a young age.

Some netizens think otherwise, though.

They felt that what Ella did was “unacceptable” and inappropriate as Daniel is already four and would be affected by what he was told.

However, other netizens argued that there is nothing wrong with Ella's conversation with Daniel, especially because he's her son.

“This is not a bad thing. He will respect women when he is older,” said one fan.

Ella also shared that she really cherishes spending time with Daniel and regardless of how busy she is, she will make time to chat with him before bed.

This is why I always say that I am not afraid that my child will not allow me to hug him when he is more than three years old, because Jin Bao is now four and is still very clingy to me,” she said.

Though Ella enjoys being a mother, she and her husband, Malaysian businessman Alvin Lai, do not intend to have another kid due to her difficult pregnancy when she was carrying Daniel.
