Elva Hsiao Says The Treatment To Heal The Dog Bite Scar On Her Face Feels Like “Getting Burnt By An Iron”
The singer opened up about her complicated relationship with her boyfriend.
Taiwanese singer Elva Hsiao is still recovering from the injuries sustained on her face eight months after getting bitten by her dog
According to the 42-year-old, the bite, which she said was an unintentional attack, caused her to suffer from skin necrosis, which is dead skin tissue near the wound.
In an update in July this year, Elva revealed that she still had a visible scar on the side of her mouth.
The latest update about her recovery comes from a source close to Elva. According to that source, the singer recently went for a “minimally invasive laser treatment” to treat her injury.
Said source also went on to share that Elva chose to go without anaesthetic for the laser treatment.
Unfortunately, the treatment ended up hurting a lot, with Elva sharing that she felt as if she was “getting burnt by an iron”.
The pain did not subside after the laser treatment, and Elva had to rely on painkillers to get through the next few days.
The source shared that Elva would have to go for the laser treatment again a few months later as she hopes to flatten the raised scar next to her her mouth.
If the treatment still does not show any results, she might have to go for a major surgery again.
In a statement to the media, Elva’s agency XY Entertainment said that the singer has now “found a way to live in peace with the scar”.
Apple Daily also contacted Elva to ask about the status of her relationship with her boyfriend, 25-year-old Taiwanese-Canadian actor Justin Huang.
According to reports in July, the couple decided to take a break after Elva turned down Justin’s invitation to fly back with him to Vancouver to visit his family.
When asked if they are still together, Elva said: “It's hard to describe our current situation.”
She went on to add that they have been together for four years after all, and that it’s not easy to simply call it quits. Elva said they used to bicker every day. However, now that there’s some distance between the two of them, they don’t bicker as often. She also acknowledged that being unable to see each other every day is a big challenge for them.
Although their relationship status is complicated for now, Elva went on to share that they’ve both agreed to not commit a “foul during this period.
If either party falls for someone else, Elva and Justin will call it quits immediately.
“[We’ll] leave it up to God” Elva said, adding that she trusts her partner when the reporter brought up the fact that it's hard to catch a cheating partner in a long-distance relationship.
