Elva Hsiao’s Younger Brother Opens Cafe, Receives Complaints That The Coffee Aroma Is Too Strong

Guess it's a crime when your coffee smells too good?

In 2020, the younger brother of Taiwanese singer Elva Hsiao found himself in the news for a very unflattering reason.

Hsiao Shengyan, 40, had made a guest appearance on reality show Meeting Mr. Right Season 3, which starred Elva, 42, and her now ex-boyfriend Justin Huang.

However, what was meant to be a happy occasion for the siblings ended up in disaster, no thanks to nasty netizens who deemed it fit to mercilessly age shame Shengyan for looking older than Elva.

Recently, Shengyan made headlines again and this time for a brew-ly weird reason... if you smell our drift.

Last year, Shengyan, who reportedly has a managerial role in his late mother's company, Tantron International Corp, started his own cafe as a side business.

The coffee lover even has a Coffee Quality Institute Q Arabica Grader license, and the specialty coffee beans that are sold at his cafe are all personally roasted by him too.

Elva has also showed her support for Shengyan's cafe on social media, writing: "The coffee tastes so good that I wanna work there too."

Objective, the singer may not be, but she's clearly a supportive sister.

However, it was reported that Shengyan had received complaints that the coffee aroma coming out of his shop was too strong when he roasts his coffee beans there.

Left with no choice but to comply and placate his unhappy neighbours, Shengyan now has to shift his coffee-roasting activities to industrial areas to avoid further complaints.
