We’re used to celebs obscuring the faces of their partners or kids with strategically-placed stickers, but Ethan Ruan's choice of picture art for his new girlfriend is interesting, to say the least.

Last Saturday (Feb 5), the 39-year-old actor announced on Instagram that he is in a relationship.

He wrote: “The new year brought with it new hope. She’s a very ordinary girl, so I hope everyone can give us a little space to get to know each other. Thank you for your understanding and I wish everyone happy new year, and for you to be safe and healthy."

He also shared a picture of him with his girlfriend, whose face in the snap was covered with five stickers — a bandana headband, shades, a beard, a cigarette, and a gold chain.

Ethan’s manager confirmed the news and added that his partner is an “ordinary office worker whom [Ethan] hopes will not be disturbed” by the media because of her relationship with the actor.

This is the first time that the actor has publicly admitted to being in a relationship since his 2015 split from actress Tiffany Ann Hsu.

He and Tiffany dated for eight years before they called it quits, According to Taiwanese news outlets, including Apple Daily, they broke up because he cheated on her multiple times.

Tiffany tied the knot with actor Roy Chiu last December. The couple had starred opposite each other in the 2021 hit movie Man In Love and are said to have dated for less than six months before getting married.
