Ex-TVB actress Esther Wan, 54, dies after long battle with breast cancer
She had initially beat the disease but suffered a relapse in recent years.
Former TVB actress Esther Wan has died after a long battle with breast cancer. She was 54.
According to reports, she passed away on May19 and her funeral will be held on June 16.
Esther was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2005. The cancer had spread to the lymph nodes, and she had to undergo chemotherapy and a mastectomy.
Though it wasn’t mentioned when she beat the disease, in 2020, Esther shared that she was in good health and she no longer needed medication, only annual check-ups.
However, she suffered a relapse, and her condition recently took a turn for the worse.
RIPEsther joined TVB in 1997 after graduating from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts.
In her 23 years with the broadcaster, she has appeared in numerous dramas, mostly in small supporting roles. She is best known for playing cop Lou Bingbing in 1997’s Criminal Detective Investigation Files III.

She was last seen at a dinner with ex TVB actress Meg Lam and some friends in 2022.
She leaves behind her husband.
