The Four Heavenly Kings Rumoured To Be Reuniting For 25th Anniversary Celebration Of HK’s Handover

The last time Aaron Kwok, Andy Lau, Jacky Cheung, and Leon Lai shared the stage was in 2007.

Looks like Andy Lau’s wish for a Four Heavenly Kings reunion may be coming true, if rumours are to be believed.

This year marks the 25th anniversary of Hongkong’s handover to China and to commemorate the event, a gala will be held on June 30.

The show will feature music, dancing, martial arts and a variety of other performances.

A rundown of the performers went viral recently, and boy, is it star-studded.

According to the list, the gala will feature some 70 artistes including the biggest names in Cantopop like the Four Heavenly Kings. Yes, Aaron Kwok, Andy Lau, Jacky Cheung, and Leon Lai.

The last time the quartet shared the stage was at the 10th anniversary celebrations in 2007.

Other A-listers include Alan Tam, George Lam, Sally Yeh, Grasshoppers, Hackan Lee, Joey Yung, Twins' Charlene Choi and Gillian Chung, Miriam Yeung, Raymond Lam and Leo Ku.

The gala will reportedly be hosted by Liza Wang, Eric Tsang, Patrick Dunn, and Janis Chan, as well as Chinese hosts Long Yang, Nigermaidi Zechman, Ma Fanshu, and Kaili Zhang. Actors like Myolie Wu, Deric Wan and Jackson Yee will also be making appearances.

Notably missing from the list were Hongkong singers Eason Chan, Hins Cheung and boyband Mirror, who were earlier linked to the show.

The very star-studded list

In 2019, Andy expressed his wish for him and his fellow Heavenly Kings to come together as mentors on a singing competition programme.

However, he noted that Jacky would probably decline as the latter thinks he’s not qualified enough to take on such a role. Really, God of Songs?
