Glenn Yong Ranked 62nd On TC Candler’s Most Handsome Faces Of 2022; Says He's Surprised Jackson Wang Didn't Make The List
The Ah Girls Go Army actor is the first local star to make the global list.
Singapore actor Glenn Yong, best known for playing Sergeant Chow in the Ah Girls Go Army movies, is officially one of the world’s most handsome faces of 2022, at least according to TC Candler.
The film critic website, which has been ranking the world’s hottest lookers since 1990, published its Top 100 Most Handsome Faces of 2022 list yesterday (Dec 28). Glenn emerged from 1,800 nominees to take 62nd spot.
The star took to Instagram to announce the news, writing: “SINGAPORE REPRESENT.
JUST RECEIVED NEWS YESTERDAY THAT I MADE IT TO TOP 62 OF 100 MOST HANDSOME FACES OF 2022 IN THE WORLD. REALLY HONOURED TO BE A PART OF THIS.”
Yup, you know how thrilled he is when his caption is written entirely in caps.
Fans and friends like Tay Ying, Hong Huifang and YES 933 DJ Ze Liang flooded his IG with congratulatory messages. Even TC Candler wished him congratulations.
Glenn told Shin Min Daily that he only learned about the news when a friend texted to congratulate him.
“I didn’t know that I was nominated and have never thought that I would be in the top 100,” he said.
When asked who's his idea of a handsome man, he named Korean singer Cha Eun Woo, who is ranked 48th. Glenn was also surprised that Hong Kong star Jackson Wang, of K-pop group GOT7 fame, did not make the list.

Taking top spot was Superman Henry Cavill, 39. Korean singer Hyunjin, 22, of K-pop boy band Strays Kids, and American actor Timothee Chalamet, 27, came in second and third place respectively.
Australian actor Chris Hemsworth, 39, was in fourth, and rounding up the top five is Hong Kong singer Keung To, 23, of Cantoppop boyband Mirror.
Other notable names on the list include BTS’ V (seventh) and Jungkook (11th), Mirror's Anson Lo (16th), Chinese singer Lay Zhang (41st), David Beckham (87th), and EXO's Kai (97th).
According to 8world, Star Search 2019 champ Zhang Zhetong was also nominated, but did not make the final list.
Glenn is the first local star to make the global list. In 2019, JJ Lin was ranked 35th in TC Candler's most handsome in Asia, while Lawrence Wong came in at 91st.
