Golden Moments launches S$99 ‘VIP membership’ with year-round cost price durians perk

Which is why homegrown durian brand Golden Moments has launched a very fancy-sounding VIP Premium Membership, where customers pay $99 a year to enjoy “fresh premium-grade durians at cost price” year-round.
How it works
According to Golden Moments, its VIP customers can get “members-only rates for fresh durians at cost price for as low as $8/kg to $12/kg, depending on seasonal price”. This apparently includes cultivars like Mao Shan Wang and D24, which in our opinion determines whether this membership is a good deal. And also whether you eat enough durians to justify shelling out $99 for the membership.
As provenance matters for durians (Pahang durians are generally considered superior compared to, say, Thai durians), 8days.sg has enquired on where Golden Moments gets their durians, and will update this story when we get a response from the brand.
There is also a bunch of sign-up gifts worth around $165, including a 600g box of “Black Gold Premium AAA Grade Mao Shan Wang worth $52.80”, a six-bottle pack of Three Legs Cooling Water, $100 worth of Golden Moments e-vouchers and two packs of mala lobster cracker snacks worth $12.80. These gifts are automatically given upon each yearly renewal of the membership. 
Other membership perks
Other than cost price fresh durians, the year-round membership perks include discounts of up to 50 per cent and vouchers for Golden Moments’s non-durian products and durian desserts such as the 24K Mao Shan Wang Galaxy Cake, Signature Mao Shan Wang Snowskin Mooncakes and Durian Mochi.
