HK Actor Wong Hei Suffers Horrifying Nosebleed After Getting “Stabbed” In The Nose By Staff Administering His PCR Test At Taiwan Airport
Oh, and he ended up testing COVID-positive.
Hongkong actor Wong Hei’s painful PCR test experience is something we wouldn’t wish upon our worst enemies.
The 54-year-old took to his Facebook on yesterday (Apr 3) to reveal that he’s currently in Taiwan. However, he had a less-than-pleasant experience at the airport.
Upon touching down, all travellers are required to have a PCR test done by the airport staff. And that was where things began to get dicey for the actor.
Here’s the first update from the actor on his situation, accompanied by a slightly gory picture of his face: “Stabbed while doing a PCR [test] after arriving in Taiwan. The assailant has since left the scene. Of those who are left behind, no one knows the assailant's name, all they know is that she came from the hospital.”
Warning: Graphic pictures ahead.

That's one bloody nose
According to Wong Hei, the staff administering the PCR test for him was a "petite" woman, who was about 1.5m tall, and dressed in PPE.
When she did the test for him, she first inserted the cotton swab in his right nostril, while simultaneously pushing his head forward.
And since the swabbing was really painful, Wong Hei instinctively moved his head back, away from the swab. The swabber then told the actor that he had to do the test again, and to bear with it for a bit.
But on her second try, she ended up causing Wong Hei to bleed from his nose. The actor shared that the swabber left the scene immediately after, and seemed unaware of the injury she’d caused.
Oh, and the actor later received notice that he’d tested positive for COVID-19, and will have to be quarantined for the foreseeable future. Talk about bad luck.

But back to the scene of the “stabbing”.
It appeared that no one rendered assistance to Wong Hei. He wrote that the other staff who were on-site had no idea who the culprit was. When he reported the incident to the police, the police appeared unwilling to help as well, urging Wong Hei to check with the staff in-charge of administering PCR tests.
However, Taiwan’s Deputy Director-General of their Centers for Disease Control (CDC), Chuang Jen-hsiang, later issued a statement refuting certain parts of Wong Hei’s account.
According to Jen-hsiang, the woman who injured Wong Hei made such a swift exit after the swab test as she had to deliver the samples to their test centre immediately. Jen-hsiang also revealed that, occasionally, nosebleeds might occur if the swab breaks the surface of one’s nasal mucosa.
He then shared that the other staff on-site had rendered assistance to Wong Hei, offering tissue paper and a new mask for the actor. However, Wong Hei refused their help.

He's definitely not pleased about his experience
