South Korean actor Kim Seon Ho, whose latest drama Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha recently ended on a ratings high, is being plagued by rumours that he dumped his girlfriend after asking her to get an abortion and that he isn’t actually as angelic as he appears to the public.

It all started last Sunday (Oct 17) when a user on Korean online forum Nate Pann shared a lengthy post to expose the true nature of a “two-faced and shameless” individual, who was referred to as “Actor K”.

According to the author, who claimed to have dated Actor K from early 2020 till about four months ago, she became pregnant with his baby in July last year.

Actor K wanted her to terminate the pregnancy as he was worried that becoming a father might affect his career and that he might need to pay 900mil won (about S$1mil) in damages to advertisers. He was also very direct about being “unable to love” the child.

He then used his “superb acting skills” to coerce his girlfriend into getting an abortion, promising to marry her in two years and move in with her next year.

However, when she finally went for the procedure, he did not accompany her — he got one of his juniors to go down instead — and sent her only 2mil won (S$2,300) for the fees.

He never apologised for what he put her through and later broke up with her over the phone.

Actor K’s ex also spilled the deets on his “two-faced” antics at work.

When he took on a role in a television series last year, he kept complaining about its “childish” and “boring” plot, scolded the director and the other actors, and made tasteless comments about his co-stars’ appearances and acting skills.

It was only after the drama became unexpectedly popular that he thanked the director and showed his gratitude in front of the media. His ex, however, was not amused and called his behaviour “very disgusting”.

On Monday (Oct 18), entertainment reporter Lee Jin Ho did a live broadcast on YouTube pointing out that Actor K is Seon Ho, 35.

A Korean news outlet also reported on the story using a pixelated image of a man, but eagle-eyed fans quickly recognised it as a photo of Seon Ho, making matters even more damning for the star.

Fans of Seon Ho immediately rallied to defend their idol, urging the public to refrain from engaging in reckless speculation and threatening to take legal action against those who continue to spread defamatory rumours about him.

Unfortunately, the damage had already been done as brands he endorsed, including Canon and Domino’s Pizza, began removing posts and ads related to him from their pages.

Strangely, Seon Ho’s management agency SALT Entertainment remained silent and did not release any statements all the way until this morning (Oct 19).

Apologising for not speaking up sooner and for the trouble caused by the “unpleasant events”, they explained that they are still trying to verify the truth behind the anonymous post and asked the public to be patient as nothing has been confirmed yet.
