Hong Kong star Vivian Chow recently took fans down memory lane when she shared photos she had taken with fellow ‘90s screen goddess Sharla Cheung, better known as Zhang Min, on Instagram.
The actresses had starred in movies like 1989’s The Romancing Star III and Devil's Vendetta (1991), and together with Chingmy Yau and Wanda Yung, were regarded as the goddesses of Hong Kong cinema in the '80s and '90s.
The pair, both 56, met up when Sharla went to catch Vivian’s performance in Wenzhou, China, on Jun 30.
Vivian shared that she was surprised and moved to see Sharla, whom she hadn't met in over 30 years, in the audience.
"I never expected that the performance in Wenzhou would lead to our reunion. I thought you were just casually saying [she would be there]. I was surprised that you really came all the way to see me," she wrote.
Vivian added that the moment she saw Sharla in the audience, she wanted to run down stage to hug her: "We haven’t seen each other for more than 30 years, and no matter how the world changes, as long as I am by your side, I will be embraced by your love, just like always."
This reunion was a long time coming.
Fans were equally thrilled by the reunion.
There were comments like, "Such a classic moment" and "I thought I'd have to wait a lifetime for this picture!"
Some also expressed their surprise at how youthful the stars look.
"No matter how the world changes, you two haven't changed a bit!" commented one netizen, while another asked: "Both of you are still so beautiful, how do you guys do it?"
